Scientific ResearchAmerican research
scientist and Doctor Backs Finbarr Nolan In 1979 Finbarr
Nolan went to the United States where many people doubted
his healing powers. He was asked for scientific evidence to
support his claims that he could heal and he agreed to
tests. For two weeks he took part in experiments carried out
by Dr. D.E. Willner a Miami doctor and university research
scientist.
Ten patients took part in the tests. Finbarr was introduced
to them as Dr. Finn, a medical student from Dublin visiting
America. He saw each of the patients three times and after
the three sessions Dr. Willner re-examined them. Of the ten
patients Finbarr has seen four showed no sign of change in
their condition, four showed a definite and positive
response and two showed a dramatic improvement.
Some time later Dr. Willner, writing in an American Journal
wrote:
"I do not believe in magic
but I do believe there is a rational explanation for all
phenomenons. It would be easy to speculate that the
phenomenon observed here was coincidental, perhaps due to
magnetic fields, biochemical and so on. Speculation,
however, serves no purpose except to point the way to
possible avenues for investigation. I do not wish to
speculate. I wish only to point out that a very definite
phenomenon appears to have occurred when Finbarr Nolan
performs his "touch healing". I am convinced from
my limited experience with this young man that some process
did occur and that this process demands investigation".
